ATT-Marathon-2008The Basics

The AT&T Austin Marathon’s new philanthropy program, 26 Miles for 26 Charities, partners the 26.2-mile race with selected nonprofits to help them elevate awareness and raise money while filling critical volunteer roles throughout the marathon and half marathon courses.

Participating nonprofits will volunteer at water stops and clothing drops along the race routes, and, by developing creative themes for their station, the groups will help create an exciting atmosphere for the thousands of athletes passing by. This allows the nonprofits to highlight their organization while creating a fun and uniquely Austin experience for the runner.

In exchange for the much-appreciated volunteers, the race provides these organizations with a number of fundraising tools and opportunities to raise awareness. This website will serve as a resource for those tools where the selected nonprofits can access the latest news, deadlines, fundraising information, meeting dates and other critical details. Charities can also use the Shared Files link to upload their own documents to share, including the latest outreach activities so the media team can keep up with the progress.
